You might have noticed a bit of silence on my part, followed up with a few changes happening around here. I’ve been hard at work, cooking up some fun new things for you….but I figured I shouldn’t keep you wondering forever.

A year and a half ago, I went through a re-branding when I launched my new business. I loved it for a moment, but it didn’t take long to realize that while my new look did fit the cliche “white, bright, and blush” that is so popular among beauty bloggers…it didn’t represent me.

It doesn’t take more than a quick glance in my direction to understand why. I’m not exactly one to fit into a crowd. If it’s not my purple hair that stops you in your tracks, perhaps it’s my transracial family. This might make you laugh, but I still catch myself wondering out loud to my husband why people are staring at me! Often times, I don’t even finish my sentence before I remember why. I don’t look like every other mom. My family doesn’t look like every other family.

It took me some time to process, but I’ve finally come to terms with the fact that I made a mistake. I tried to create a brand that others would love, instead of creating a brand that I would love. What I’ve come to realize is that I can never find my tribe if I don’t remain true to myself.

So if you were wandering around this place of mine trying to figure out who I am and what this blog is all about…don’t worry. I get it. THIS…this is me, my friend. I’m not here to blend in with the crowd. I have BIG THINGS I want to accomplish in my life and I’m tired of sitting on the sidelines. I’m ready to make a difference and that means I need to unapologetically stand out.

All that to say, please excuse the mess as my site is currently under construction. It might take a little while to get things exactly how I want them…but if you are ready to make a difference too, I encourage you to stick around! Exciting things are coming! I can’t WAIT to share with you what comes next! Any guesses as to what it is???
