First week of school – phew! We made it!

If this is your first year with a kid in school, please know… The first week is always the hardest, always the most chaotic, but it DOES get easier. Not EASY, but easier.

Skyler started 8th grade. Made a new friend on the first day. Excited about Art and says his Math teacher is awesome. Biggest complaint is doing PE outside in this heat (which sounds pretty awful, TBH.)

Makeda is in her first year of middle school (6th grade). When I asked her if she made a friend the first day she looked at me with a “duh” face and said, “Yeah, I’ve got my group.” Of course she does. She’s most excited about choir and it sounds like she has a fantastic teacher!

Kellan started Kindergarten this year and couldn’t be more excited about it! When I picked him up the first day his first comment was, “I didn’t even miss you at all!” Wow, thanks dude. 🤣 His biggest gripe is homework and learning all the rules.

We feel so blessed so so soooo grateful to have all the kids in the same school this year. It made the first week a million times easier than last year (with three school drop offs, barf!)
