So yeah, it’s been a while. But I’m not apologizing about it, remember? But please don’t interpret that. I still miss you. Dearly.
It’s just…moving takes a toll. On all of us! And while my kids are adjusting remarkably well, they do need a lot of mama time right now. And let’s not forget to mention the boxes. Oh, the never ending boxes. Although I’ve made some real headway this week, nothing feels quite “done”. But I thought you would enjoy a little peek at the new place anyway!
I have entirely three things hung on my walls right now. I guess this shows you where my priorities lie, right?
I must say…decorating to stage your home for others to fall in love with versus decorating to fall in love yourself are two totally different things! It’s a work in progress, but I am slowly getting there. (Yep, still lottos of moving boxes in the background!)
Today marks 3 weeks since our big move. While apartment living really fits this point in our lives, and while we really feel home here…I would be lying to you (not to mention myself) if I didn’t say the honest truth:
I am completely overwhelmed…
I am still working on personalizing our new apartment and ridding it of that “cookie cutter” feel.
There are boxes everywhere. While we did rent a storage unit…we have a lot of stuff to go through and that means every spare inch of our apartment is lined with boxes.
I just now (as in today) found my planner, so a lot of things have slipped or been forgotten in the last couple weeks.
There are a lot of things I would love to purchase that would help organize or display things I love, but alas…moving is expensive. So it will have to wait.
I’m still working on giving the kids some quiet time apart from their siblings.
And we are definitely working on a certain little minion not waking the other minion up at 6am and jumping on us in bed.
But with all that said, there are a lot of things to celebrate…
Kind and considerate neighbors.
The management really likes me…which is probably a good thing 🙂
This is a brand new apartment which means it is modern, it smells clean, and there are very few maintenance things (I am waiting to get a lightbulb replaced…but oh how lovely is it that I don’t have to do it?!?)
We have an elevator. Do you know how handy that is some days?
Two bathrooms. I mean, friends.
Well, that’s all for today. All we can do now is hold our breath and cross our fingers that it won’t be 3 more weeks until you hear from me. In the meantime, I would love to hear what you think about the new digs!
