Happy November!

Happy November everyone!

I trust that y’all had a great Halloween out trick or treating with your kids (or whatever else you love to do to celebrate). Hubby was working late last night so I did the single mom trick or treating – PHEW! THAT was exhausting – I don’t know how you single parent households do this every day! I had one kid on my hip in slippery costume, balancing two full candy buckets on the same arm, and using my other hand to guide the other little who couldn’t see their own feet. My spine hurts! LOL! But there were no major tears or meltdowns (at least while trick or treating) so I consider the night a success. But photos will have to come later… (I have yet to upload them to my computer)!

Well a new month is upon us at last. I apologized on Facebook for my sincere lack of posts for the month of October. I honestly had a lot more in store for you than I was able to share….BUT!!! (If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram you will already know…) Our family just got back from a week and a half long road trip to California! So yes, much to share from that lovely vacation. But it was the last minute trip that prevented me from doing much blog wise last month. But as we prepare for Christmas (yep, it’s just around the corner – can you believe it?!?) I thought I would take this month to share with you all some of my favorite businesses out there that are doing so much more than just helping you cross another gift off your list. They are helping to change the world with each purchase. Introducing this month’s little series…

PurchasewPurpose

The first company I want to share with you this month is one that I have shared with you many times before: FashionABLE. If you’ve hung around here for a while, you may already know that our friends, the Bentley family, are in Ethiopia right now supporting and encouraging FashionABLE and the amazing women who work there. FashionABLE creates sustainable business for women in Ethiopia. It gets them out of the hard life on the streets, counsels them, supports them, and gives them a trade to help provide for themselves, their family and their community. These women are so inspiring, I couldn’t help but share one of their stories, directly from FashionABLE’s website:

Genet Story

It is stories like Genet’s that motivate me to be purposeful about how I spend my money. How we spend our money IS important, and I am being educated about that more and more every day.

Admittedly I don’t have any scarves from FashionABLE’s most recent line to share with you…but I did want to show you how stunning and versatile these are. Especially during the colder seasons, I can honestly say that I wear one almost every single day. And I get so many compliments on them, which is such a great opportunity to share about FashionABLE and what they are doing in Ethiopia.

Our family is making a huge effort to Purchase with a Purpose this month as we begin our Christmas shopping and my hope is that these posts will encourage you to consider doing the same. What joy it brings me to not only see someone’s face light up with a beautiful gift like a FashionABLE scarf…but be able to share with them what the purchase of this scarf is doing for the woman who made it as well!
