We have all heard the classic tshirt and jeans look as the “mom uniform”, right? So much so, in fact, that many of us have a fear of wearing it for being judge as “that mom”. Well fear no more, my friends! Today I’m going to show you five easy ways to upgrade the mom uniform, while keeping it simple, chic, and comfortable!
1/ POP ON A BLAZER /
We all know how the school mornings go. Rushing around trying to get everyone ready, all while ignoring yourself. You take your last gulp of coffee and it hits you… PTA MEETING! Quick! Pop a blazer over that tshirt and jeans you instantly look chic and put together, just in the nick of time! No one will be the wiser that you had the morning from…well, you know where.
2/ AN OVERSIZED SCARF /
Nothing hides that childish or slightly inappropriate text on your tee (or food smears from your kids) like an oversized scarf. Take the time to learn 10 ways to wear it and you can keep it fresh every morning! Not to mention, your neck is just that much cozier now, right? Admit it!
3/ BOHO WITH A KIMONO /
You all know that kimono’s are my go to when it comes to upgrading my tshirt, right? It takes you from BLAH to BAM in an instant and definitely hides any bulges from that shirt that hugs you in all the wrong places. We all have one like that, right? Why is it still in my closet?
4/ MAKE A STATEMENT /
The mom uniform lacks texture…a fundamental to looking “put together”. Why head out of the house feeling frumpy when it takes 30 extra seconds to throw on a statement necklace and complete changes your look, not to mention your attitude.
5/ LIPSTICK AND HEELS /
If all else fails, at the very least throw on some outstanding heels and bright lipstick. Getting ready for your day affects your attitude in so many ways. And really, it’s hard NOT to feel fabulous in lipstick!
Well ladies, I hope that inspires you to break out of the box a little bit. I’d love to hear from you what you do to upgrade the mom uniform. Maybe you have some ideas I haven’t thought of yet!
No one ever said the mom uniform was a bad thing! Just because it’s easy, doesn’t mean it can’t be fabulous!
