I’ve been really struggling with settling on a Halloween costume this year. I’ll be honest, I really had my heart set on our family going as the Incredibles! It would have been so perfect had the cost not been so outrageous! As the wife of a grad school dad, I really can’t justify shelling out the big bucks on costumes, of all things. So instead, we decided to get a little more creative and work with what we had or what we could borrow.
Since my babe had a Robin costume that was handed down to us, I thought Bat Girl might be the perfect addition! A SeneSister of mine did this look a couple weeks back and I had been thinking about it ever since. And since I could re-create it using all the things I already had in my makeup caddy…it was what we like to call a WIN-WIN!!
Here’s what I used to create the look:
/ SKIN /
3-in-1 Cleanser, Climate Control, SeneSerum-C, Normal to Dry Daytime Moisturizer, EyeLuminator, Silk
/ FACE /
Light Concealer, Medium CCTM, Dewy MS, Onyx SS for the mask, Outlined with a 1-1 mix of Snow SS and White Concealer, Granite SS for the shadow
/ EYES /
Candlelight SS as a base, Onyx SS on the lid to above the crease, Palm Glitter SS on the lid, Snow SS in the corner of the eye, Waterproof VolumeIntense LS in black
/ LIPS /
Blackberry LipSense, Palm Glitter SS, Glossy Gloss
I briefly considered going live in my VIP Customer Group to do this look, but it looked so complicated that I was SURE I was gonna screw it up! Imagine my surprise when I was halfway through and it was actually looking like the real deal! I guess the lesson in all this is that I need to learn to trust myself a little more.
What does your family do for Halloween? Do you fork up the cash for some cute costumes? Get creative and make your own? Or do you just forego the whole thing altogether? Let me know in the comments!
