Now that my husband’s off of vacation and headed back to the daily grind, I’ve been planning the remainder of my summer in detail. From pool parties to play dates to farmers markets to the zoo, I’m having fun exploring all our options. But while I’m planning all these fun events for my kiddos [and myself]…I always have to keep in mind clothing options to keep us cool and help us beat the heat.

Showing a little skin is making a huge statement in an all new way this year. Bare your shoulder and show off that summer glow with cut outs and off the shoulder tops and dresses this summer.

I’m pretty sure shorts are the bane of my existence. 90% of the shorts on the market are far too short and I feel like I am constantly tugging them down when I walk. I have always loved hats in all shape and sizes, so I love seeing such a large variety at my fingertips! Not only are they a great way to shade you face on a sunny day, but they protect those colored strands from fading so fast in the hot summer sun. If you can’t tell, I am struggling to keep my purple in place lately. My answer? Buy more hats!
4/ STATEMENT TEES /
Since typography has become such a huge trend in all aspects of design, it’s no surprise that its showing up on our clothes now, is it? The mom uniform just stepped up its game by making a statement of its own!
5/ GLADIATOR SANDALS /
While these sandals have been on trend for a couple years, 2016 has taken them to a whole new level. No, seriously! Like, all the way to the knee! I love how versatile these are – you can style them with shorts, skirt and maxis to really make a fashion statement. Of course, I also still have that soft spot in my heart for wrap sandals of any sort.
